As an actual singing bird, I can sometimes feel alone in a convention full of costumed “furries”. If you are also a real creature, or perhaps a character from a cartoon, book, etc., this is a safe space for you where you can be yourself without fear of strangers treating you like you’re a human wearing a costume.
